"SENSEI" ROCKY BOWKER

Rocky Bowker is a lifelong resident of Dickson County, Tennessee. He has a wonderful wife of 23 years in Michelle (Hoff) Bowker and they share three children - Wes, Shaina, and Colt. 

He is the owner and chief instructor of Rocky Bowker's Karate Academy of Dickson and he is currently a third degree black belt in Wado-Ryu karate training under SENSEI DALE KIRBY (7TH DAN  WADO-RYU) & SENSEI TAYLOR HAYDEN  (7TH DAN  WADO - RYU ) and; a first degree black belt in jujitsu and brown belt in judo training under SENSEI DANNY SMITH (5TH DAN JUDO, 5TH DAN JU-JITSU)..  He has competed regionally in both karate and judo tournaments and is a former champion of the heavy-weight black-belt fighting division of the U.S. Eastern Wado-Ryu Karate Federation Championship, as well as a former bronze medalist in the Tennessee State Judo Tournament.

Rocky is the Environmental Coordinator for Tennsco Corporation in Dickson;

He's the Past-President (2006-07) of the Dickson Good Morning Rotary Club

          Twice bestowed the “Rotarian of the Year” award from this club

          Also presented the “Paul Harris Award” by this club

He is a former chairman of the Dickson County Local Emergency Planning Committee (1/23/03 to 8/7/07);

He is the principal contact for Dickson's Citizen Corps Council;

He's a previous board member of the Middle Tennessee Film Commission; and

He was a previous board member of the Americana Folk Festival.
